Teams of 6-8 students from high schools across Idaho will be invited to participate in the ULeadIdaho competition. A qualified teacher / advisor from the school, B|Launched alumni and ULeadIdaho business mentors will be assigned to each student
team.
Each team will develop a viable company idea, research the industry and prepare a fully fleshed out business plan and pitch presentation. The teams will pitch their idea to a panel of distinguished judges from around the State of Idaho, which
will determine which teams presented the most viable company idea. The first and second place team members will win scholarship money (in the form of 529 plans).
The goal is to create an environment with the real-time application of starting a business with the people, resources and commitment necessary, so that students gain perspective on what it actually takes to start a business from beginning to end.
The ULeadIdaho Program provides Idaho students the opportunity to work with business leaders to learn entrepreneurship and innovation. The interactive, team-based experience is innovative and relevant for Idaho’s future leaders and promises to increase
capacity toward economic prosperity.

IDLA, in partnership with Idaho’s top entrepreneurs, is in a unique position to provideonline content and video collaboration for ULeadIdaho. This platform provides students the opportunity to earn high school and college credit, and thechance
to earn money for college.
The rigorous curriculum, provided by IDLA, paired with an interactive team competition will promote a college and career-bound culture. The ultimate goal is to create an environment with the real-time application of starting a
business with the people, resources and commitment necessary, showing students what it actually takes to start a business, from beginning to end.
For the 2015 season, the students will have an advisor from their school and ULeadIdaho business mentors assigned to their team. They will also have access to content and curriculum in an online forum. The mentors and advisors will be highly collaborative
with one another to ensure the success of each of the teams and the program as a whole. The advisors will be the initial managers of the group and will participate actively by organizing the group in-person and online. Ultimately, the students
will determine which idea will be their idea to pitch. They will guide and provide critical business advice and help where necessary.
• Participation is FREE* for students.
• In order to participate in the program, a student must complete the necessary application and registration.
• Participants and their guardians must sign a confidentiality agreement to participate. This will be provided at or before the January kickoff meeting.
• Kickoff of the program will be in January 2015. All participants, advisors and mentors will come together as a team, working on a team-building activity.
• The program will have online materials and college dual credit (1 high school and 3 college elective credits) is available upon successful completion of the program.
*College credit will be available at 65.00 per credit - the cost of college credit is the responsibility of the participant however does not preclude the student from participating.
Idaho Digital Learning is a tax-exempt organization. 100% of all donations will be placed in a named account for ULeadIdaho scholarship funds. All donations are tax deductible. The scholarship funds will be distributed through an IDEAL 529 college
savings account.
